VIETNAMESE SHIPBUILDING - MARINE INDUSTRY: INTEGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Positive geographical conditions, judicious and strategic orientation by Vietnam Government and timely investment have enabled the recently spectacular development of Vietnamese Shipbuilding – Marine Industry. The Industry has achieved an annual growth of 30% and had a capability to newly build 100.000 DWT – 250.000 DWT vessels and other kinds, such as: tourism ships, oil-tankers, container liners, ships for sea transportation, military and rescue.

A target to develop our Shipbuilding Industry to achieve one billion USD in revenue and 3 million DWT in capacity by 2010 has been set in order to build a concrete basement for the following years and for a rapid integration into the world and Asian region shipbuilding - marine industry. We are striving to build Vietnam Shipbuilding – Marine Industry to become a key exporting economic section of high and stable developed in Vietnam economy with localized rate of 60% by 2010.

To improve the competitiveness and successful integration, Vietnam Shipbuilding – Marine Industry has built up some main targets:

Further develop the domestic supporting industries by constructing plants specialized in manufacturing maritime spare parts, components, in-exterior decoration, control system that meet international quality standards.

Focus on investing new technology and upgrading assembling lines for existing factories.

Invest in technical and scientific Research and Development, especially in human resources including high-qualified engineers and workers.

With an aim to assist domestic and abroad enterprises to expand their investment cooperation, to develop science and technology and trade promotion in the coming years, Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) in cooperation with Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) and C.I.S Vietnam Advertising & Exhibition Ltd to hold: The 3rd International Exhibition on Shipbuilding, Marine Technology & Transportation – Vietship 2006 from 21st to 24th February, 2006 in Hanoi with the participation of ship-owners, companies, shipyards, subcontractors, suppliers in the worldwide marine field.

The 3rd International Exhibition on Shipbuilding, Marine Technology & Transportation – Vietship 2006 shall introduce the world’s leading shipyards, shipping lines, designers, classification societies, supplier of spare parts, equipment and service for the vessels, who will present their latest products and services. We are looking forward to your valuable participation in this Event.

We strongly believe that with the participation of exhibitors from over 30 countries in the world, this 3rd Exhibition will be an ideal venue for international marine market. - More than 100 maritime and hydraulic equipment suppliers and ship-owners from 13 nations, such as: United States, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, China… and almost every  specialized enterprises in Vietnam.

            

   + Visitors:

 - Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung – Standing Deputy Prime Minister of Government of Vietnam S.R, delivered a speech and cut the grand ribbon at the Opening Ceremony, and paid a visit to exhibitors and displaying booths.

- Over 45.000 trade and public visitors.

15 contracts of total value of over 430 million USD were signed

30 enterprises were awarded.

The Show was broadcasted on VTV1, VTV3, HTV and released on reputed and specialized newspapers

 

VietShip 2006 - Size and Forecast :

Expected size of 5000 m2 with over 200 booths

The Show is organized at the largest Exhibition Center in Hanoi with the participation of Vietnamese and world’s prestige companies, corporations and ship-owners.

The Show opens in 4 days; it is forecasted to attract 50.000 visitors including manufacturers, traders, scientists and investors.
